Because of the isolation and difficulty of tribal ministries, the majority of NTM missionaries serve in support roles. Since all support workers live and minister to some degree in a cross-cultural context, the support track has been developed to train support workers to function effectively in their professional ministry in that context.
Support workers should also have a solid understanding of church planting methods and goals because support workers serve and work with those in church planting ministries; therefore, support workers will be introduced to the basic church planting methods employed by New Tribes Mission.
The support track is designed to accomplish effective training in the shortest time period.
You should note that generally only teachers and pilots are pre-qualified for the support track. We prefer to give you the opportunity to explore church-planting ministries – and possibly discover talents and abilities you do not realize you have– and then make a decision in concert with the trainers as to whether the support track is the right avenue for you.
