SIGNS OF SALVATION IN WORSHIP SONG

Also available in: Espaņol

July 1, 2008

by Brian Johnson

It's been a difficult time in the Dinangat tribe.

Missionaries Gary and Esther Smith have been trying to evaluate how well the Dinangats understand the Gospel and how many have believed.

This task has been greatly complicated by the fact that the Dinangats are a very reserved people. They tend to be silent about beliefs and feelings.

That's why a young Dinangat believer named Lucas is so encouraging.

Lucas has always been interested in music. When Gary went to ask him if he would lead a couple of songs after the next Bible lesson he got a pleasant surprise.

The Holy Spirit had been working in Lucas' heart and he had already composed five songs.

The Dinangat church can now sing to God in their own language as they follow their young music leader:

Oh, our Father God, our Father God
We come to You
Oh, our hearts are dirty, wash them with your Word.

Oh, the Father's Son Jesus died for us
Oh, He took all the bad from our souls.

Pray for the Dinangats to truly understand what Christ has done for them. Praise God for encouraging young believers like Lucas.
