The difference faith makes

Two years ago Octavio lived in fear. His daughter's name will always be a reminder of that.

In the Northern Tepehuan culture of Mexico, friends name the babies. When Octavio's daughter was born she was given a predominately male name. Octavio and his wife were disappointed but fear wouldn't let them speak up.

They were afraid of the power of the influential men who would curse them if they went against the system.

Octavio smiled as he told missionary Matt Arnold it will be different for the child they are expecting to arrive at any time.

Hearing the Gospel and placing his faith in Christ have set him free from the fear of men.

"I can't wait to hear what they name their yet-to-be-born baby," wrote missionary Matt Arnold.

Please pray for Octavio and his wife as they take a stand for Christ. Pray that their fearlessness will be a testimony to those who have yet to place their faith in Christ.
