Ese Ejjas needed encouragement

Ese Ejja believers were happy to see missionaries Michael and Cher Riepma when the couple made a recent visit to their village.

After a 60-mile, four-hour motorcycle ride that involved crossing small streams and traveling on a potholed road that had sections covered with water from inclement weather,  the Riepmas were able to spend many hours “talking with dear friends and brothers in Christ.” The couple was able to share from God’s Word four times during their visit.

Some of the believers needed encouragement since a time of Carnaval was just finishing – a time of excessive partying and drinking. Much of the Ese Ejjas’ social life involves excessive drinking.

Some of the believers had become involved, so the Riepmas encouraged the faithful to be gracious and show God's love.

Coya, a young believer, was very anxious to get right with the Lord. He expressed how deep in his heart he knew it was wrong, but the pull and pressure to participate was very strong.  “We could see the joy of the Lord in his face again after he made things right,” Mike and Cher wrote.

Please pray that the believers will stand strong in the Lord and maintain a good testimony in the community.
