We’re having chicken tonight
Binaldu sat on his rickety porch in the late afternoon shade of the Philippines. He couldn’t stop thinking about what he had learned and believed from the Bible. Jesus had been the sacrifice for his sins. Now he was free. Free of sin and free of the spirits.
And that’s when the idea came to him.
He quickly grabbed his air-rifle and headed off down the trail.
“Hey Binaldu! Where are you going so fast?” his Banwaon neighbor asked as he rushed by.
“I’m going to shoot that chicken I’ve been raising to sacrifice to the spirits! I know now that the spirits were just lying to us and trying to drag us down to Hell. I’m never going to sacrifice to them again! Jesus was sacrificed once for all of us. Nothing more is needed. So I’m going to cook up that chicken for me and my family and have a feast!”
